Commendations Advisory

ContBanner-Commendations

Director: Angela Sexton

The Commendations Advisory Board, known as CAB, explains the different categories of events which are reportable in monthly chapter activity reports. Each category is explained, as well as the points each one merits and lists some of the awards possible from IFT from chapter reports.

The International Federation of Trekkers tries through its members to actualize the philosophy of Gene Roddenberry... Living the Dream ... his wish for humanity. This philosophy was a socio/humanistic one, giving every one of us a precious equality, no matter our race/creed/origin/age/health etc. It is simply a way of life in which selfishness is unknown and a real interest is taken in the lives of others.

Gene Roddenberry believed that each and every person is important; that everyone has a special "spark" within them that when cultivated and coordinated with the sparks and talents of others, can greatly benefit mankind, the planet, and the future.

IFT encourages its members to do their very best to live this way and as a chapter to grow together as a micro-society living for each other’s good and betterment... And acting in various ways to help the community in which the chapter is stationed.

To further encourage this, IFT gives chapters points for their activities as a chapter -- Chapter meetings/away missions ... donations or help to charities and the local community etc...

The job of CAB starts with collecting the monthly reports from all of the chapters and tracking the appropriate points for the Chapters' activities done according to the report (away missions, charity donations, etc.)
