nnWere you aware of Star Trek’s special tie to Cleveland and the Cleveland Police Department? Star Trek was created by Gene Roddenberry, a decorated WWII bomber pilot and former Los Angeles, California, police motorcycle unit officer. Gene’s wife, actress Majel Barrett, known as the “First Lady of Star Trek,” was born and raised here in the Cleveland area. Her father, grandfather, and uncle were all Cleveland Police officers, and her father, Officer William Hudec and his partner, Officer Warren Stainbrook, were killed in the line of duty on August 30, 1955.nnI am Captain of the Cleveland chapter of The Federation, the USS Challenger, and we will be hosting a fundraiser in sponsorship of the 15th Annual Heroes Run on on Tuesday, August 30, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., at P.J.
